Job Description

The Children’s Ministry Director is a part-time salaried position with the potential for full-time employment as the program grows. The primary role will be creating, structuring, maintaining and most importantly growing the children’s program and its attendance. The CMD will work closely with the Pastor in leading the traditional mission, vision, and core values of the church to grow the next generation of believers and continue the spread of the gospel.

  • Ability to encourage children, families, and volunteers.
  • Experience working with special needs children is a plus.

Responsibilities 

  • Select and develop curriculum and age-appropriate materials for the program.
  • Recruit, train, and manage leaders and volunteers ensuring they effectively teach and promote a biblical worldview and Christian values while adhering to church doctrine and guidelines.
  • Promote and adhere to church policies and procedures and doctrinal beliefs. (State our church doctrine in a separate section of the job posting).
  • Work with security team and/or maintain security standards that ensure children can learn in a safe and protected environment.
  • Plan and oversee special events designed to promote outreach and minister to children, including but not limited to coordinating outreach and/or field trips (Easter Festival, VBS, Fall Festival).
  • Manage the creative use and proactive upkeep of ministries to facilities to ensure they are presentable and appropriately equipped for children’s programs and events.
  • Develop and present a budget for ministries and then oversee and manage good stewardship over the approved budget.
  • Meet with Advisory Board quarterly. 
  • Maintain check-in and check-out system.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Senior Pastor.
  • Possess or willingness to acquire NC Commercial Driver’s License with bus endorsement.
